There are some steps you should be taking if you want to keep your candles in tip-top condition.
Candle Care
1. Make sure your candle burns evenly the first time you light it. Let the entire surface of the candle melts before you put it out. It should take a minimum of at least one hour to four hour.
2. Keep your candle clean. Once your notice soot and other debris have accumulated inside the jar, clean them out. It might ignite by the candle's flame and produce multiple flames causing the candle to overheat.
3. Trim your candle's wick to have a clean, even burn. Ensure the wick is not longer than 0.25 inches (half a cm).
4. Minimize mess when putting out your candle. You may place the lid back or use a proper snuffer. You can also put your candle out by dipping the wick in melted was using a wick dipper to press it into the wax and straighten it back up before it dries.
5. Retire your candle while there is still wax in it ( 0.5 inches of was left) in order not to overheat the container.
